Wow, September is already here and there are lots of events this weekend in Tuscany. let’s have a look together!

Medieval Festivals and Historical Re-Enactment

In Scarperia on Saturday and Sunday there is the Renaissance Festival bringing back the ancient city to its Renaissance splendor with knights and fights, jugglers and musicians, ladies and dances. In Pescia on Sunday there is the traditional Palio of the Archers, as well as as a colorful costume pageant.

On Sunday in Cerreto Guidi there is the Palio del Cerro, celebrating Santa Liberata patron of the city. In Fucecchio there is Salamarzana, medieval festival showing off how was life in the Middle Ages. Even in Vicopisano there is a nice medieval festival, both on Saturday and Sunday. In San Gimignano on Sunday the medieval festival at la Rocca with the Knights of Santa Fina.

In Arezzo there is the 124th edition of the Saracen Joust, spectacular horse race held in Piazza Grande.

Markets and Fairs

In Vicchio there is a large arts and crafts market called Maze, as well as the Hot fair where you can find local food and lots of special events including museums special opening. In Lastra a Signa there is the last appointment with the Midsummer Farmers’ Fair with a rich calendar of events.

On Sunday in Montalcino and San Giuliano Terme there is antiques market, as well as in Fiesole, Carmignano, Pietrasanta and Pontremoli. In Cortona goes on until Sunday the large antiques fair.

In Forte dei Marmi there is the arts and craft market, as well as in San Gimignano that is called Art-Tour. In Piazza della Repubblica in Florence there is the Mercatale, where you can buy fresh and organic products from local farmers. In Piazza Santissima Annunziata in Florence there is the Bread fair where you can find organic food and other products.

Food and Wine fairs

In Paganico there is the Granocchia fair, to taste frogs, in Vicchio the Tortelli Fair, in Carmignano the Figs Fair, and in Borgo San Lorenzo the Wild Boar Fair.

In Pitigliano the Wine festival with wine cellars open all night for wine tastings in this beautiful city on Saturday and Sunday.
