The medieval castle of Malmantile opens today at 4pm and brings you back to the Middles Ages.

The Medieval Festival Malmantile is an important festival near Florence, aiming to bringing you back to 1400, when it was a rich town enclosed in massive walls. More than 150 figures dressed in stunning medieval costumes will reenact the daily life of the hamlet with ladies and gentlemen walking around the streets, artisans working hard and knights fight each other.

Inside the castle you can visit the medieval market, where local artists works as they used to do at that time. Then you can admire a military camp, where knights fight each other with their swords and you can learn archery. Jugglers, acrobats, street performers and musicians will entertain you around the streets.

At 5 pm the extraordinary falconry show will take your breath away and at 5.30pm the enchanting costume parade that will go through the streets and will arrive to the castle for celebrations.

The castle and the events will start between 4 and 4.30 pm and will go until 1am on Saturday and till 11.30pm on Sunday. There will be several “Taberne”, ancient osterias where you can have traditional Tuscan food, wine and beer to drink. The entrance is free and you can easily park your car within the recommended parking and take the free shuttle bus service to the festival.
