Montecarlo near Lucca

Starts Friday May 18th Vinaria in Montecarlo, a great event celebrating the this beautiful city and its excellent wine.


Montecarlo is a small city near Lucca, that is famous for its flowers and its DOC wine’s production. The village was founded in 1333 by Bohemian Emperor Charles IV, but wine production started much earlier in 1150. If you want to discover this area you can follow the Wine’s trail and find out its beauty.

During the next weekend all farms, cellars and shops will be open and organize guided tours to the properties in order to show you how their wine is produced and becomes a DOC wine. On Saturday they open from 4pm to 10pm and on Sunday from 12pm to 10pm. Free wine buses will guide you through the area and stop at each property.

You will taste wines and local products, together with art and local culture. For the event the recently restored Cerruglio Fortress and the Rassicurati Teather. In addition in the center of Montecarlo will take place several events such as the medieval tournaments and life scenes on Sunday.
