Want to go to the beach in Florence? Now you can go to La Spiaggina, take some sun and have some fun.
La Spiaggina is a beach in Florence, that opens every year on the Arno’s banks together with a small bar in Piazza Poggi. Lots of events, food and fun for all summer.
La Spiaggina is well-equipped and you can rent for free sunbeds, umbrellas and check chairs. When it’s too hot you can take a shower. You can also play beach volley or football. Children can play in the playground. Several events will be organize over the summer that here will start on the first days of June.
RIVA
For example you can participate at the annual contest for the best Sand castle on August 15th, to the tournaments of football and beach volley, take sit for the great pic-nic on St. John’s day (June 24th).
And when the sun goes down you can move upstairs to Piazza Poggi where you can have a cold drink and something to eat. The bar is equipped with a maxi TV where you can watch the Uefa Euro 2012 and London Olympics Games. But you can also watch great movies for free. On August 15th there is the Castlesand tournament from 3.30pm to 8.30 pm.
La Spiaggina is located underneath Piazza Poggi, few steps from San Niccolò Tower. I think it’s the perfect place to blend with locals all day long.
