This weekend of May is very very busy with lots of events all around Tuscany. So let’s see what to do on this weekend in Tuscany.

Let’s start with the main event of the weekend that is the Museum Night on Saturday 19th in Tuscany when several state museum will be open until late night for free. On Sunday May 20th in Florence visit the Festa del Grillo, literally the Crickets Fair where crickets sing and you blend with locals while eating local food and shop arts and crafts. Starts Thursday and goes on until Sunday the interesting Boboli Perfumes where you can discover perfumes, fragrances, candles, soaps and so on at Boboli Gardens in Florence. At Fortezza da Basso you can visit the large antiques market with more than 100 exhibitors called Fortezza Antiquaria.

In Marradi there is Pane e companatico a nice fair celebrating bread and butter, that is the perfect occasion to blend with locals and find out costumes and traditions of Mugello. In Scarperia and in Borgo San Lorenzo there is the Tortello Food Festival. In Calcinaia near Pisa there is the Nozza Festival, that celebrates nozza a local traditional wedding cake dating back to ancient times.

Then in Fucecchio there is the traditional Palio delle Contrade on Sunday, famous for its Renaissance costume parade, while in Rapolano Terme near Siena there is Serremaggio, Renaissance festival bringing you back to the past. In Piazza del Mercato in Siena there is an antiques and collectibles market, as well as in Pontremoli in the beautiful Lunigiana.
