Calici di Stelle, Wine Tasting Night in Tuscany

In Tuscany we celebrate the night of Saint Lawrence and its stars with a great wine event called Calici di Stelle.


On August 10th for the entire night wine tastings and concerts all around Tuscany. A rich program of events to enjoy a night out in the Tuscan countryside directly at the farms’ yard or into the main squares of beautiful towns and villages in the region. let’s have a look together at the main appointments!

Program and locations of Calici di Stelle

Valdorcia

Castiglione d’Orcia – wine tastings and concerts starts at 6 pm and go on for all night. There will be the flag-throwers show, the Maggiaioli sing around the streets and monuments and museums will open for free. For more info Strada del Vino Orcia.

Montepulciano – wine tastings start at 5.30pm and at 6pm there is a costume pageant and at 9.15pm the flag-throwers show. Later at night there are several concerts all around the streets. For more info Strada del Vino Nobile.

province of Siena

Poggibonsi – in Piazza d’Armi of the ancient castle wine tastings start at 9pm together with concert.

Fattoria del Colle – free wine tastings and local products tastings together with special guided tours in the night. The osteria serves a special menu according to wine tastings. For more information Donatella Cinelli Colombini.

Colle Val d’Elsa – wine tastings in Piazza Duomo.

San Gimignano – wine tastings start at 9pm in Piazza Sant’Agostino together with free concert. Special opening of the Church of San Piero. Don’t forget to download TooMuchSanGimignano, free app guide for iPhone and Android!

Chiusi – wine tastings start at 10pm in Piazza Duomo. Reservation is recommended by calling 0578 226273.

Rapolano Terme – wine tastings from 8pm in Piazza Matteotti until midnight together with local food.

San Casciano dei Bagni – wine tastings from 9.30 pm to midnight.

Chianti

Castellina in Chianti – from 10am there is the arts and crafts market until 11pm, then from 7pm the marching band Dixie Band Street Parade play all around the streets. From 7pm wine tastings and special opening of the medieval tower of the Museum, that will open until 11 pm.

Castelnuovo Berardenga – from 7pm wine tastings and music in Piazza Marconi. Special openings of the Landscape Museum and the Civic Tower.

province of Arezzo

Castiglion Fiorentino – from 9pm wine tastings in the ancient castle of the city, together with hams and salami. A classical concert is the sound track of the event. Special archaeological guided tour. For more information Proloco Castiglion Fiorentino.

Lucignano – from 8.30 Piazza del Tribunale in the center of Lucignano is transformed into a large restaurant under the stars where you can taste local food and wine while listening at a lovely music. At the end of the dinner, free guided tour to the local museum. The cost is 20 euro per person and reservation is mandatory by calling 0575 838002 and 3357363242.

Campogialli – this small village near Terranuova Bracciolini hosts Calici di Stelle. Wine tastings are all around the streets and you can taste more than 100 different wines together with local products. Reservation is recommended by calling 055 9194729.

Province of Florence

Montepertoli – from 8pm in Piazza Machiavelli wine and food tastings. From 11pm at the Wine Museum vinsanto tastings and cakes.

Tavarnelle Val di Pesa – wine tastings in Piazza Matteotti from 7pm. While in San Donato in Poggio wine tastings in Piazza Malaspina.

Vinci – wine tastings start at 6pm in Piazza del Castello and in the streets of the center. Free entrance to the tower of the castle and to the Leonardo da Vinci Museum.

Province of Grosseto

Alberese – wine tastings from 5pm to midnight together with local products.

Massa Marittima – wine tastings of local wine from 8pm in the lovely city center.

Pitigliano – from 8.30 pm local wine and food tastings. Special openings of historical wine cellars in the tuff.

Province of Pisa

Terricciola – wine tastings from 7pm in the ancient Etruscan village together with jazz music

Province of Lucca

Villa Lazzareschi – from 9pm wine tastings in this beautiful Villa near Capannori.
