Sleeping Hermaphroditus

Sleeping Hermaphroditus

Great news at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. Starting from tomorrow blind people and partially sighted people can touch several statues along a special path inside the museum.

These people can have a free guided tour inside the Gallery and touch some of the most beautiful statues there. Thanks to a pair of gloves they can touch every part of the statue and read Braille’s signs, explaining the artwork. Visitor will be able for the first time to discover how artwork were realizing.

Among the collection there is the stunning Sleeping Hermaphroditus, the Gaddi Torso, and a 3d reproduction of the beautiful and famous Birth of Venus by Botticelli.

The tour is free and comes together with a Braille’s leaflet and an audio guide. The same kind of tour can be taken at the Bargello Museum, at the Pottery Lab in Palazzo Pitti and at The Last Supper by Andrea del Sarto.

Information and reservation can be done by calling 055/284272.
