Nature Trains in Siena

If you want to discover Siena and its beautiful surroundings in a different way I recommend you take one of the Nature Trains, vintage and steam trains traveling across the region.


The trains departure from main train station in the province of Siena and travel across the area visiting hidden places, special events and festivals helping you to discover another side of this stunning region. The tours have different themes and started in April. Here is the official calendar for May:

13 May Crete Senesi Market in Asciano and Cheese Festival – the train will stop also in Monte Antico for taking pictures and arrive in Asciano where there is the traditional food market of Crete Senesi. The train departs from Siena at 8.55am and return at 5.45pm.

20 May Train Festival at Torrenieri – Torrenieri is a small town on the via Francigena where takes place a great festival with organic and local products, traditional arts and crafts. The train departs from Siena at 9.45am and return to Siena at 6.30pm.

27 May Arts and Crafts in Monte Amiata – the train will travel across the Crete Senesi and Valdorcia and you’ll be amazed from these landscapes. The train departs from Siena at 8.15 am and return at 7pm.
