Events in Tuscany on this long weekend April 28th to May 1st

This is going to be a loooong weekend with loooots of events all around Tuscany. So let’s the best events in Tuscany for the weekend.


In Pescia starts Sunday the Medieval Festival that will bring the city back to the Middle Ages with figures in costume, craftsmen, musicians and dancer around the streets. In Suvereto there will be the traditional and ancient Palio delle Botti, where players from the city’s boroughs fight each other rolling large barrels. It starts at 4.30pm on Sunday.

In Suvereto there will be the Spring Festival going on until May 6th, whit food and wine tastings and other events. In Anghiari there is the large arts and crafts market until May 1st. In Gaiole in Chianti on Sunday there is an antiques and collectibles fair. And on Sunday there will be also a large shopping market in Forte dei Marmi. In Montepulciano on May 1st there is the Sant’Agnese Festival with a large market and a costume parade, while in Pienza there is a Flower Festival.

There are also several interesting food festivals, such as the Wild Boar Festival in Certaldo, the Tortello and Steak Festival in Vicchio and Borgo San Lorenzo. In San Quirico d’Orcia you can taste excellent wine with Orcia Wine Festival.

Last but not least Florence. Until Sunday there is the Mostra dell’Artigianato, while on Monday night there will be the Notte Bianca with lots of events. On May 1st several museums will be open and there will be the Flower Market at Giardino dell’Orticoltura.  On Sunday there will be the large antiques and collectibles market in and around Piazza dei Ciompi.
