The Tapestry Gallery in Florence

It started at the end of March a stunning art exhibit at the Uffizi Gallery: The Tapestry Gallery.

It is a large exposition of ancient tapestries, that are part of the rich collection of the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. In fact until 1987 all visitors could look at the entire collection of tapestries that were exhibited in the corridors of the Gallery. Unfortunately lights, dust, the hanging and other factors damaged over the years these beautiful tapestries, that were removed.

Now all visitors can admire these beauties again, that are 17 pieces part of a larger collection. You can admire Flemish works from the 16th century, such as the stunning tapestries depicting the Festivals of the Valois Court, Florentine works from the 16th and 17th centuries, such as the tapestry depicting the Passion of Christ.

The exhibition will be open until June 3rd and the ticket costs 6,50 euro. The visit is included in the Uffizi Gallery’s admission and I strongly recommend you see this beautiful collection. For more information visit the official website.
