When you visit the Castle of Sammezzano it looks like you’re at TopKapi Palace in Instanbul. This eclectic building has been built in 17th century according to Moresco Style, in spired to Islamic art, by the Ximenes family from Aragona.
The Castle has 365 rooms, one for each day of the year and they’re all beautiful, but some of them really stands out such as the Peacock’s Room, the Lilis Room and the Loves’ Room. As you see in the pictures the richness of the decorations is incredible and unique!
It is located in the Municipality of Reggello, close to Leccio where there is the famous The Mall. The Castle is surrounded by a beautiful park, that is one of the largest and most charming parks in Tuscany.
Unfortunately it’s not visible at the moment, except for extraordinary openings as last Saturday. While I was in Genova, my friend and photographer Lili76 visited it and shared with us these great pictures! Thanks Lili!!!
