This weekend the medieval town of Laterina will celebrate the 1000th birthday of its castle. And what better than go back to the Middles Ages with a festival?
Laterina Medieval Festival
This year the festival celebrate the 10th year together with the 1000th anniversary from the foundation of the castle of Laterina. So this is going to be a very special weekend for this small town in Arezzo surroundings. The festival starts Friday night when the medieval market, inns and pubs will open. Here some unmissable moments:
- Friday July 25 – opening night with shows and conference about the history of the castle at 9pm
- Saturday July 26 – at 9.30pm the historical reenactment of the castle’s foundation
- Sunday July 27 – at 10.30 historical reenactment based on the holy image of Santa Maria in Valle
- the rich costume parade walking around the streets with their beautiful and colorful costumes
- the arts and crafts medieval markets
- street artists, medieval dancers and jugglers
- medieval food in local inns and taverns
