Laterina Medieval Festival

 

This weekend the village of Laterina near Arezzo goes back to its ancient splendor with the medieval festival “La Torre, il borgo, la Rocca”.

The medieval festival

For three days the ancient castle of Laterina goes back to its ancient splendor hiding its modernity and bringing back the traditional life in a medieval castle.

Streets are lighted up with torches and candles and you can meet jugglers, jesters, knights and gentlemen, ladies and artisans. Lots of events for three days and nights where you can really enjoy life in the Middle Ages.

There are falconry shows, colorful costume pageants, medieval musicians and dancers, fire eaters, waders, and much more. A rich program of events both for adults and children.

The program

The Medieval Festival of Laterina takes place on July 27th, 28th and 29th, starts from 5-6pm going on until midnight.

Every day magicians and street performers entertain you along the streets of the castle. Then you can look at medieval war machines and to a military camp. You can also eat medieval food in the local inns and osterias.

The entrance to the medieval festival is free there is a shuttle bus service from the main parking lots. You can pick up the shuttale bus in Via Roma, in Via Enrico Fermi and in via Fabbrica from 6pm to midnight every 10-15 minutes. Don’t miss the special opening of Torre Guinigi, from which you can admire a stunning panorama.
