Events in Tuscany on this week end March 30th and April 1st

If you are in Tuscany on this weekend, when March will end and April will start, this is a selection of some of the main events in and around Tuscany. You will find festivals, fairs, food and wine tastings and much much more.


In Strada in Chianti, an enchanting village in the Chianti Region near Florence, there is “Sagra delle Frattaglie“. It is a very typical food festival where you can taste some real Florentine food, the frattaglie,i.e. animals’ guts. In fact some of the most delicious food within Florence cuisine are trippa and lampredotto – tripe and lamprey. It is at Casa del Popolo, Largo della Cappellina 2 in Strada.

In Scarperia, small medieval village in the green Mugello, takes place the typical “Sagra del Tortello“, food fair where you can taste the excellent tortelli from Mugello. These pasta is traditionally handmade and filled in with smashed potatoes and cheese. Tortelli are perfect with wild board’s sauce. The fair is at the Circolo MCL di Scarperia in the center.


In Vicchio, another beautiful village in Mugello, on Sunday April 1st there is the “Figs’ Food Fair“. Figs are a typical product of this area and you’ll have the occasion to taste lots of food made of figs in Piazza della Vittoria.

On Sunday will also take place several antiques markets. In particular I suggest you the market in Fiesole, in the main square of Montalcino, at the seaside in Forte dei Marmi and in Pietrasanta.
