Chianti Classico è 2012

From May 25th to June 3rd is time for Chianti Calssico è, a great celebration both for Chianti wine and region.

The entire Chianti region will be involved, together with all the small and big hamlets, villages and towns. Every destination will offer a busy events’ calendar full with wine tastings, food tastings, concerts and much much more.

On June 2nd in Gaiole in Chianti there will be a flower market and free wine tastings combined with movies. In Castellina in Chianti on May 25-27th we celebrate the “Pentecost in Castellina“, with a weekend of tastings to sample wines from the southern part of the territory.

In Radda in Chianti for the entire weekend June 1st to 3rd there will be tastings of wines produced in the are through the streets of town, thanks to “Radda in the Glass“. If you’re going to visit Radda, don’t forget to download my app guide for Radda in Chianti!

In Lamole, near Greve in Chianti there is “The scents of Lamole“, a long weekend of open-air tastings where local farmers and wine producers presents all their products to the public. In San Casciano there will take place “The Black Rooster & Street Food“, that every evening will let people taste the finest street food from all over Italy paired with Chianti Classico wines from Barberino Val d’Elsa, Tavarnelle and San Casciano Val di Pesa. From 7pm on May 25thto 27th.

On June 2nd will depart from Castellina and from Greve at 9am the tour “Following the Black Rooster legend, on foot“. It is the re-enactment of the Black Rooster legend with lunch in Panzano in Chianti at Dario Cecchini’s “McDario” restaurant. The winning team will get bottles of Chianti Classico. The event costs 30 euro per person.

Chianti Classico è organizes also guided tours exploring the Chianti Classico wineries on May 26th, 30th, 31st and June 2nd.
