This is the first weekend of August and there are lots of events in Tuscany.
Medieval Festivals and Historical Re-Enactments
For the entire weekend in Gavinana there are the Celebrations for Francesco Ferrucci and the historical-reenactment of the Battle of Gavinana. From Friday to Sunday in the ancient castle of Roccatederighi near Roccastrada there is a beautiful Medieval Festival.
On Saturday night at 9pm in Massa there is Quintana Cybea, medieval joust where five knights challenge each other. On Saturday and Sunday in Bibbiena there is the Legend of Mea, historical re-enactment of ancient story about the young and beautiful Mea.
Markets and Antiques Fairs
Saturday and Sunday in Arezzo there is a large Antiques fair with more than 100 exhibitors in Piazza Grande. Also in Forte dei Marmi there is a large antiques and collectibles market.
On Sunday there is the antiques market in Montalcino, in San Giuliano Terme, in Pontremoli and Scarperia. On Sunday morning Fra’ Cipolla Market in Certaldo to buy fresh and organic vegetables and local products.
Food Festival
In Borgo San Lorenzo there is the Tortello Festival, handmade pasta filled with smashed potatoes. In Suvereto the Porcini Mushrooms Festival inside the stunning Cloister of San Francesco.
In Castel del Piano there is the Birra Festival where you taste local food and spacial beers. On Sunday in Pelago the Wine Festival with wine and food tastings in the center of the city from 4pm.
