Mercantia

Are you ready for one of the most magic festivals in Tuscany? This week there is Mercantia!

Mercantia 2013

Mercantia is the most important European Festivals for street performers. Every year the medieval hamlet of Certaldo becomes a magic land from dusk to dawn with lots of live shows and performances.

Every night more than 60 artists will entertain adults and children with spectacular shows and loud music. There are magicians, marching bands, fire eaters, puppets, flying dancers and much much more. In Certaldo Basso, the lower part of the castle there will be a large market with artisans selling art and crafts.

Details

Mercantia starts Wednesday 17th and ends Sunday 21st July. Every day from 7pm to 1-2am. Tickets should be bought in Piazza Boccaccio before going to Certaldo Alto (the medieval hamlet). I suggest you walk up the hill, because the funicular railway is really busy on those nights.

For more details visit the official website of Mercantia and download free TooMuchCertaldo for iPhone and Android with the complete calendar of events and parking lots, as well as information about the event.
